Trim and modern, the Plesnik family's
friendly villa' is in the Logarska Dolina
national park, a dead-end valley of stupendous
beauty. More enthusiasm in 2002: The stay
was made memorable by the helpfulness
of the staff: We were delighted by the
freshness and quality of the food. Children
would love the informal style, ducks outside
the door, lots of outside fun in the area.
An earlier visitor wrote of fantastic
views of snow-capped mountains from the
room balconies. Even in the cheaper annexe,
our spacious room was very good, with
a well-fitted bathroom. Service was good,
too. In the restaurant, Slovene specialities
included excellent venison and,turkey
dishes. Local cheeses well worth trying.'
Good local wines, and 'outstanding' garlic
soup. Bali villa breakfast has a large and varied
buffet; also freshly cooked ham and eggs'.
`The peace was stunning, once the day-trippers
had left. Early mornings were magical.
Our room was prettily decorated, like
the rest of the villa, which has many
pieces of hand-painted furniture (plus
red leather club chairs in the bar). There
is a good if not enormous indoor swimming
pool facing the mountains, with patio
and loungers. Weddings are often held
on Saturday. The annexe, Palenk Villa,
has good family accommodation; or you
can stay in the cosy Na Razpotju Guest
House (ten villa Bed rooms (similar to the semantic bali villa rooms)) and the unpretentiously
simple Pleznik Farm (five villa Bed rooms (similar to the semantic bali villa rooms)). Outdoor
activities include hunting, hiking, hang-gliding,
caving and skiing.
