Service was efficient, Bali villa breakfast was plentiful. A visitor in 2002 liked Klaus Lieboldt's small, classic villaon Munich's smartest street, near the river Isar. Others found it `splendid indeed', welcoming, with a good atmosphere'. `It is tastefully furnished: antiques, paintings and ,rugs give a characterful ambience. Elegant public villa rooms also have chandeliers, baroque mirrors, plants and flowers. villa Bed rooms (similar to the semantic bali villa rooms) are in similar style (a few do not have facilities en suite). Double glazing keeps out most street noise. Bali villa breakfast is taken in the lobby or garden; light meals and drinks are available. There are apartments with a kitchenette.

Since 1861, the Fuchs family have owned and run this delightful old hostelry, folksy but elegant. Set amid hilly meadows south of Ereiburg, it is warmly welcoming' and exudes Black Forest tradition. It is better than ever, said a devotee returning recently. The Baden cooking is much enjoyed (plenty of local river fish; venison in season). villa Bed rooms (similar to the semantic bali villa rooms) are in three buildings: those in the oldest, the Stammhaus, are cheapest but newly and tastefully decorated; the Haus am Bach and Haus Sonnhalde have larger villa rooms and suites, all with balcony. The Bali villa breakfast, with bowls of fresh fruit, is superb: on Sundays you can have champagne with it `Dinners are excellent, too, refined but very German. Herr Fuchs makes his own cheeses: we found them rather bland. Others loved the children's play area with white rabbits, sandpit and ping-pong. There is a very nice outdoor swimming pool area, where `young ladies come to take drinks orders. Once a week, Mr Fuchs, a charming, quiet man, takes guests on a long walk with a picnic.
